How To Use A Water Bag To Keep Bugs Away

Planning for an adventure trip with your family is what you might do every year. When you are planning for a sleep in the great outdoors, you need to think of everything you might require while you are away. You must keep all your Backpacking gear and Outdoor camping supplies, the second one of the two which must include insect repellents. However, when you get to the camp location, you can’t help but think what else you must do to keep these bothersome bugs away. No matter which insect repellents you buy, those insects find a way to arrive at the campsite and spoil your entire your vacation. Before you get even more agitated, here’s a solution. What you can do is swing a plastic bag filled with water around your campsite, and it’s that easy to send them away!

The main principle behind the insects keeping away is refraction. Refraction is the bending of light when it moves from one medium to the other (air and water in this situation). The refraction of light causes bugs to have multiple visions which creates confusion for the bugs and as a result, they experience multiple directions at a time. For this occurrence, light is necessary. When you are at a camp location at night, a light bulb can serve this phenomenon. Likewise, the campfire might also be an appropriate light source.

In order to create such an insect repellent, there are a few steps to follow:

• Initially take a plastic bag and add water in it. Make sure this bag is capable of holding the pressure of the water when it is swinging. The water is the medium that will create the high optic flow for the bugs. High optic flow areas are the danger zones for crawlers as this elevates their probability of collision. Thus, they will keep away.

• To bring more reflection in your plastic bag, add a few pennies. Make sure that they are sparkly. The shinier they are the more light they will bounce back and the more will the optic flow be. Thus, bugs will have a hard time. You may also wish to bring more than one penny. However, do not include too much of them that the plastic bag becomes incapable to keep them.

• Now seal the bag and tie it with a bit of string that is a few feet in length. Make sure this string is sufficiently durable to carry the water filled plastic bag when it is swinging.

• Swing the bag around the location where bugs are bothering you. The presence of light in this site is the solution. Along with that, if there is air around the location, you can rest assured that things will move according to how you will like them. This is because breeze will make the bag swing in air, thereby increasing the diameter of the danger area.

• Finally, what you can do is follow the consequences. Take a close look at the populace of the insects and find out whether your repellent has affected them. If you have been effective, hanging more than one water bag is also going to help.
