What Is GPS
The Global Positioning System, more commonly known as GPS, is a global satellite system for pinpointing the precise location of GPS receivers. This system works by measuring the distance to multiple satellites. A sphere is then virtually 'drawn' around each satellite by using the distance to the receiver as the sphere radius. Where the edges of the spheres intersect on earth is the location of the GPS receiver.
